Data methodology
Methodology
Each public data page links its sources and shows the static data snapshot used for the build.
Content updated: · Maintainer and corrections
How to read the data date
The date under a country page identifies its bundled data snapshot. It is not a claim that every issuing authority checked the page on that date. A guide's content-update date describes a separate editorial change. When a source changes, check its document type and effective scope before carrying the change into a product.
Country pages combine structured reference data with display examples. Phone lengths can cover multiple number types; a mobile mask shows only one grouping. Locale recommendations are derived from language and region data, so they do not establish a visitor's language preference or runtime support.
Missing evidence and corrections
If an ID format lacks sufficient evidence, its page explains the gap and is excluded from the public ID directory and sitemap. A missing reference does not mean that the country has no identity system. We do not fill gaps by inventing a plausible number pattern.
For a correction, record the affected country and document, compare the specific source passage, update the English and Traditional Chinese explanation together, and recheck masked output and navigation. The About page gives the contact route and the details needed to reproduce an issue.
Country, language, and phone data
Country and territory records use ISO 3166-1. Language and locale recommendations use Unicode CLDR. Phone formatting metadata is presented with ITU-T E.164 and libphonenumber as the public references.
Identity-format threshold
An identity-format page is listed only when an official public page directly describes its format, or when two independently reviewed professional references agree. An agency home page alone is insufficient. The site shows a regex and a permanently masked synthetic example, never validation or a usable identity value.
