hreflang Builder & Checker: HTML and XML Alternates
Build language and region URL mappings, check supported tags and duplicates, and export HTML or XML alternates with an explicit x-default.
Enabling local controls…
1. Language and URL mapping
Supplied mapping only; no remote access. Limits: 100 rows, 1 MiB UTF-8 input, 4 MiB XML output, 2,048 URL characters. Supports assigned ISO 639-1 languages, optional ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 regions (en-US), x-default. Explicit scripts in this version: zh-Hans / zh-Hant with an optional region. Other scripts, variants and extensions are outside this version’s scope.
Put the HTML block in each listed version’s head, including itself. XML repeats all alternates for every unique URL; x-default may share a language URL. Duplicate tags/language URLs and invalid codes or URLs are rejected. Output includes self references and planned reciprocal links; it does not prove deployed return links, indexability or equivalent content.
Rules: Google localized versions2. Markup output
Fill the mapping or load a sample, then build.
How to use this tool
Add each supported language or region and its complete URL, optionally add x-default, then copy consistent alternate annotations to each corresponding page.
When not to use it
Only your supplied mapping is checked, not remote return links or page language. hreflang is not canonicalization, an automatic translation or a guarantee of ranking or regional targeting.
