IEEE 754 Inspector: Exact binary32 and binary64 Values

Inspect sign, exponent, fraction and exact stored decimal values from decimal, Hex or bits, with direct ties-to-even rounding and adjacent values.

Enabling local controls…

Choose a representation

Decimal: at most 4096 digits, exponent ±5000 (4110 total characters), including -0, Infinity, -Infinity and NaN. Hex: exactly 8/16 digits, optional 0x; binary: exactly 32/64 bits, without separators.

BigInt rational arithmetic rounds directly to the chosen format with round-to-nearest, ties-to-even, without an intermediate JavaScript Number. Hex/bits retain NaN payloads; decimal NaN uses a fixed quiet NaN.

Stored bits

Enter a value or load the 0.1 sample, then inspect.

Neighbor controls switch to exact Hex bits. NaN has no ordered neighbors; Infinity stays itself outward. Sign, exponent and fraction are readable text, without dozens of bit buttons.

How to use this tool

Choose binary32 or binary64 and an input format. Inspect the bit fields, exact decimal and classification; move to the next higher or lower representable value.

When not to use it

A short JavaScript display is not the exact stored decimal. NaN payloads are preserved only through raw bits or Hex; this is not arbitrary-precision floating-point arithmetic.
