JSON Patch & Merge Patch Workbench
Apply six RFC 6902 operations or RFC 7396 Merge Patch locally with atomic failure, change previews and complete JSON export.
Enabling local controls…
1. Input and apply
Data stays in this browser: no upload, storage or URL state. Each input: 1 MiB, 100 levels, 50,000 nodes; JSON Patch: 100 operations; result: 4 MiB; 5-second timeout.
JSON Patch is an ordered operation array: add, remove, replace, move, copy and test. Paths use plain JSON Pointers starting with /; empty means root.
The whole patch succeeds or fails together. Prototype-related path segments are blocked by this tool. Removing root yields no document, not null.
2. Inspect result
Enter data or load a sample, then apply the patch.
How to use this tool
Choose Patch or Merge Patch, enter a source and patch, then apply. Compare changes before exporting. A failed operation returns no partially modified result; removing the root leaves no document.
When not to use it
No server updates, patch generation or contract validation. Prototype-related path segments are deliberately refused. Merge Patch null deletes object members; it cannot set them to null.
