XML Sitemap Inspector: URLs, Dates & Namespaces
Inspect local urlset or sitemapindex XML, flag malformed URLs, dates, namespaces and duplicate entries, without fetching listed pages.
Enabling local controls…
1. Supply sitemap XML
Native DOMParser parses in local memory; no URL fetch. This tool limits input to 1 MiB UTF-8, 10,000 direct entries, 50,000 nodes, depth 40. Oversized input is rejected as a whole; accepted entries are never sampled. These lower tool limits are separate from the protocol’s 50 MiB / 50,000 URL limits.
Rejects DTD, ENTITY and xml-stylesheet, including declaration text inside comments. Checks root/child namespaces, loc, W3C dates, duplicate URLs, priority and changefreq. Findings use one-based item positions. Does not validate image/video/news/xhtml extensions, URL existence, HTTP status, canonicals, indexability or date truthfulness.
Rules: Sitemaps protocol2. Complete per-entry report
Paste XML or load a sample, then inspect.
How to use this tool
Paste XML or load an example, review document errors and entry diagnostics, and export the complete report. Check page availability and indexing separately.
When not to use it
This browser-bounded inspector is not a complete sitemap crawler or XML Schema validator. A structurally acceptable file does not prove live URLs, freshness, canonicalization or indexing.
