UUID Decoder — Version, Variant & Timestamp
Inspect UUID versions and variants, visualize all 128 bits and decode v1, v6 and v7 timestamps locally, one identifier or a batch at a time.

Paste UUIDs
Canonical, 32 hex digits, {canonical}, urn:uuid:canonical. Only outer ASCII spaces / tabs are trimmed. Up to 1,000 non-blank lines · 128 KiB UTF-8.
Processed in this page's memory. Identifiers are not uploaded, saved or added to the URL. Use non-sensitive samples; UUIDs can link private records.
Inspect structure, not identity
Load an RFC example to see byte fields and an exact UTC timestamp. v1 / v6 preserve 100ns precision; v7 uses milliseconds.
v3 / v4 / v5 / v8 have no generic timestamp to decode. Nil, Max and other variants are identified separately.
Review and export
The JSON report includes original identifiers, decoded values and error rows. Review it before sharing; downloading is not anonymization.
How to use this tool
Paste one UUID per line or load an RFC example. Select a row to inspect its bytes, version, variant and encoded timestamp; review the complete JSON report before downloading.
When not to use it
Decoded time is not proof of creation, identity, ownership or uniqueness. UUIDs can link private records; do not paste access tokens or treat a UUID as authorization.
